SOLD. Only 852 Ferrari Challenge Stradale were ever built,
This RHD car is one of 116 officially imported to the UK. At the time the CS had the highest specific power output from a road-going normally aspirated engine, producing 118.5 BHP/Litre and weighing in at a mere 1180 KG. This particular car comes supplied with less than 10,000 miles from new with just a handful of owners.
CS braking was an area of focus with the introduction of carbon ceramic units as standard equipment. The CCM/carbon composite material not only improves performance but also saves weight in the process. With such low mileage this CSs brakes show very little wear.
Carbon fibre is most evident in the CS and was the first time components in this composite material had been developed specifically for an 8-cylinder car. The CS has carbon fibre interior door panels and racing seat shells.
The engine lid uses Lexan a form of polycarbonate, which has a density some 55% less than glass with the same thickness. Both the glass and Lexan on this particular example remain unblemished.
Inside this car you will find full race harnesses attached to the carbon fibre seats, there are no carpets to speak of, only thin rubber mats. The carbon seats are covered with leather, this car was also ordered with an aluminum roll over bar which is 40% lighter than a steel alternative. The first owner had the bar covered in matching hide with special order stitching.
The CS was setup around a specific tyre. The Pirelli P Zero Corsa mounted on 19 Challenge wheels. This particular CS is supplied with a brand new set of Pirelli P Zero tyres owing to the fact that their date, not tread, had expired.
This Challenge Stradale was ordered in Rosso Corsa with leather seats and is presented in first class condition representative of its low mileage. All associated paperwork and service history is present with the car along with tool kit, handbooks and keys.
